Well the Wild Horse and Burro Festival was fun and Charlie did OK. He had issues later in the day but Friday morning and Saturday morning he wes great. I did 4th place in Citizenship and 3rd place in Western Pleasure Green Horse. He had a little blowup during our freestyle and then when we were doing pole bending he wanted to run away with me so I scratched the rest of the events for the day. This was on August 26th & 27th. We have continued with our training and this weekend will be the next IWHBA Fun Show and a good friend of mine is going with me. Its going to be such fun. Can't wait for Saturday to get here. That will probably be the last for this year for us but I will continue with his training all winter. Good thing there is a covered arena at the stables I board at.

IWHBA Fun Show
July 16th 2011 we had a IWHBA fun show and Charlie did great. We even won 4 ribbons. 1-4th place in Showmanship, a 3rd place in the water relay race, a 3rd place in the egg and spoon race and a 6th place in the flag race. I am so proud of my boy. He did great he even tried to lope for me. we were waiting our turn for something I don't remember now what when a baby bird landed on Charlies butt. It was so cute and he didn't even care. Now its time to get serious. The Wild Horse and Burro Festival is on August 26th & 27th. We need to be ready for it. I know Charlie can do it. Wish us luck.

When my mustang My Desert Rose died suddenly I was left without a horse. Vicki Green let me ride her mustang Mariahs Secret to finish out the year but I wanted my own. We had one come into The Learning Center in Erda but I was having problems getting out there and the few times I did I was not getting a connection at all with him so I gave up. Cliff Tipton a friend and a member of the team had a mustang he adopted at the Extreme Mustang Makeover held in Heber in 2009 and he offered him to me. His story was that he did not have the time to put into his training. I went out to Erda and rode Charlie for the first time and WOW! I could not believe how fast he accepted me. We even went out for a trail ride. The next day I went out and took him through a bomb proofing class and I could not believe how good he was. Janet told me that they had never put him through a bomb proofing class, it was his first time and he did it like he had been doing it all his life. He is so willing to try anything for me at least once. We did a fun show a week later and he was so awsome. I think you could say we were a team. We went on a trail ride just after that and I got to take him home with me. I could not believe it Charlie was going to be mine. All I had to do is pay the $25. to transfer his title from Cliff to me. I should get his papers from the BLM in August or September. I can't believe that it has been almost a year that Cliff gave him to me. I have continued his training with Jackie Braun and we are getting getter. I can not thank Cliff Tipton enough for giving Charlie to me. I will do my best to make him and Jackie and Janet proud of us.
